27 Years and counting!
Dear Family & Friends,
We just returned from a month in our other home in La Ceiba. It was a great trip with lots accomplished.
We met the group from Bayside Community Church the first day. After a half-day of packing all the supplies they were able to take off for lriona around noon. The Feeding Pavilion and kitchen were completed in 3 days. The group was able to get a lot done in short order, for they are hard workers. They stayed and helped with the feeding program and it seems to be very successtul. The people of the Village of lriona are very grateful.
We are planning their next trip in May of 2008 to build the lriona Pastor a new "Casa". From there they went to another obligation in La Ceiba to help pour cement for a local Orphanage.
In the meantime, Pastor Ray from Calvary Chapel Bradenton arrived for the Pastor's Conference. lt was held in the middle of a Banana Plantation in the Village of Troas 3. lt was quite an experience for Ray to be in those surroundings, but I must say the visiting Pastors just loved him. They had never experienced "Iine-by-line teaching" and it just blew them away. People were coming from all over to hear him speak and they were begging him to come back again. Ray was only gone from the U.S. for 5 days; but did much during that time away. We say 'Thank You!' to the body of believers in Bradenton for allowing their Pastor to come and minister to the "poor and needy" of Honduras. It was life changing tor them.
Part of the group from Bayside were still in La Ceiba so they went with us to another Pastor's Church and home and finished off his roof and started a porch and bathroom for the Pastor's elderly Mom. We got so much done it was amazing and so many lives changed also.
When the Bayside group left we started work on Lindbergh's property. There have been a lot of problems with the water. We were without water for many days while there. It was decided to put in a cistern. That project was started and hopefully will solve the problems. We were also without electricity for a bit, but that just reminded us of how good we have it in La Ceiba.
The last weekend there, Lindbergh and Alajandra hired a sitter for their children and we took a 200 passenger jet-boat to the Bay Islands for a little R & R (and hopefully a blessing to Alajandra and Lindbergh.) We had a really good time. Lindbergh did some reminiscing as he was raised on the Island of Roatan and everywhere we went he saw people he knew. It was fun to see him in his element.
Much love to you all and please continue to pray for the feeding program in lriona, that God would supply all the needs and keep it going.
Love in Jesus,
Paul & Joyce Benham
